Black screen

Hi all, I have a real problem with my PC.

Yesterday I updated my vidieo driver as my flight sims wernt running
properly, but when I rebooted the bootup failed. After a lot of
fiddling around I decided to repair windows using the xp cd.

This all went well until about halfway through the repair it suddenly
crashed and rebooted itself.

Now when it reboots it starts to load windows but then comes up with a
blue screen with "setup is restarting". This then goes to a black
screen and locks up.

I have tried everything I can think of to get it up and running. Bios
is set to run the cd 1st but when it says "press any key to boot from
cd" my keyboard doesnt work and it appears that the cd is not being
used.

Any ideas please.

Have you tried running Windows in Safe mode? If no, then you must try it once.
Start your PC then press F8 after POST screen and before "Starting Windows
XP" message. This will bring up the Boot Menu. Here press enter on Safe Mode.

If you are good on luck then try removing drivers in Safe Mode.

One more thing, if you are unable booting in safe mode then try "Enable VGA
Mode".

Let us know!
