black screen

Hello,
I run XP and Windows started to install its latest update,
that I had to cancel since it was taking so long. On next
reboot, no more screen! Once in a while, after physically
unplugging the monitor and plugging it back, I get access
to Windows but it freezes right away and the screen is
gone when I restart the computer.
Any idea how to solve this problem?

try safe mode, last good config. or restore. then check
for malware sounds like you may have a bug.
