Black Screen with Remote Desktop

Anyone know why I get a black screen when connecting to
Remote Desktop Connection. I heard increasing MTU would
help. How do I do that? What is the location in the
registry?
 
How long does this black screen stay up? Do you finally get
disconnected with an error? If so, post back the error message.
Otherwise, post back with more system config details (i.e., Service
Pack, recently installed programs, etc).

Also, has Remote Desktop every successfully worked on this machine.
