Black margin on right side of screen

Hey all,

I don't think I have posted here before. I am helping an elderly lady with
her computer. Somehow she has managed to get the basic desktop screen moved
over to the left about 1.5 to 2 inches. This has left a black "margin" on
the right side and her left side icons are hidden as is her start "button" at
the bottom of the screen. I would have searched to see if anyone has had
this problem but I don't even know how to really state it.

If anyone can help, please, you can email me personally at (e-mail address removed)
and if necessary I can give my phone number. I have never seen this type of
problem.

Have you tried putting the cursor on the black edge so that it makes an
arrow on both sides of the line and hold it there while you move the cursor
to the right?

Has the monitor itself been adjusted incorrectly?

I have tried moving the cursor. That didn't work and I am not sure what is
meant by adjusting the monitor. Can you be more specific? I went through
display but there is probably something that I missed.

the menu buttons physically on the monitor itself !
