When you press the Shift key, you get the shifted character for every key,
which includes > for a period. If you use Caps Lock instead, you will be
able to type in all caps with normal numbers, punctuation, etc., though
typing in all caps is not recommended for readability (and in newsgroups
such as this, it is regarded as SHOUTING).
If the letters are too small to see, it could be that you have the View |
Zoom ratio set too low, or possibly that the Superscript or Subscript
property has been applied to the text.
