Black Color Font Doesn't Print

I posted this under fonts early last month and got no assistance. Please
don't mind me reposting to try to get an answer:

Hello. A friend of mine has a strange problem. Word 2002, Word Pad and
Notepad on her laptop all won't print fonts in black. Her printer (HP
DeskJet 832) works fine for other apps like Internet Explorer, and a test
print prints black fonts correctly. If you select the text in a new document
and change the color, it will print. But if you make the color RGB 0,0,0.
It prints a blank page. So I told her to print everything 80% Grey until I
could find out what was wrong. Does anyone out there have an idea why this
is happening? It's probably something trivial, but I couldn't fix it.

Thanks in advance,

Karl

I have the exact same problem with a Canon i860. Web browser will
print black but word, notepad, excel,..... won't print black. Any
other color and even shades of gray will print along with any
image/clipart added to the document. Very strange. Any one have any
ideas.

Check all of your printer settings. Keep tweaking until something works.
