Black Box on Desktop

I had problems with viruses and spyware but successfully
managed to clear the lot. One remnant however is a black
square on the desktop which is about 1 inch by 1 inch.
Changing the desktop picture doesn't remove it.

Anything I can do to make it go away?

Hi

Do you anything that might help indentify the box if you right click on it
and select Properties? Does the box still appear if you boot into Safe
Mode. What resolution is your graphice card set to?
