Black Border around screen

Hello,

When my laptop comes out of stand by there is a big black
border around the screen, this doesn't happen when i
reboot. why is this happening? How do i
stop it?

My guess is that there is an issue with the video controller in your
laptop. Either it has the wrong driver or it isn't compatible with the
Windows 2000 driver the laptop manufacturer supplied. Try adjusting the
screen size with the laptop buttons.
 
Make sure you're running the correct resolution for your laptop. If it's
not ancient, it's likely to be 1024×768. If you switched it to 640×480,
it's not uncommon to see a big black border like that instead of having
everything be all big, due to the nature of flat screen monitors.
