small screen after stand by

I have a laptop that goes into a stand by or hibernation
mode. When I bring it out and log on my desktop is small
on the screen. I have a 2 inch black border around it. The
only way to restore to my original desktop is to restart.
Does anyone have a suggestion for preventing this? Thank
you.
 
i have seen this problem before and it is usually a display driver issue.
update your display driver to the latest version and/or contact the
manufacturer of your display adapter (ati, nvidia, intel, etc.).
