BITMAP DEFAULT WHEN SAVING PICTURES

This my second computer with windows XP that a some point
automatically changes the format on the save as setting
when saving a picture online to BITMAP. It doesn't
matter whether the original file was a JPEG. Does anyone
know how to change the setting so that if the file is
JPEG it will save it as a JPEG???? ML

I just got a new computer a few days ago, with
Windows XP. And I am experiencing the same problem
that you are having with saving pictures. I have
tried everything, and just can't seem to figure
out if there is a way to change the setting so
that the file saved in it's original JPEG format,
instead of bitmap. So if anyone knows how to fix
this, please let us know.

Its happening to me too. This has happened before and
theres an easy fix, but I cant remember it. I know I have
to find some file and delete it.

Does anyone have the fix for this.

Stop making .bmp the default and bring back the .jpg
option.
