Andrew

I am using a WD 320Gb drive with AHCI enabled
Intel G33TL board without TPM

Windows Vista Enterprise 64bit (Orginally Chinese with English MUI
installed)

I've configured it to run bitlocker with a USB flash drive

the computer then rebooted, and after logon into windows

the drive starts encryption and then it stays at 0%

Leave it for a while. It will probably take 12+ hours to encrypt a drive that
large.

Surely, you mean the boot volume (the one with the system files) and not the
system volume (the one with the boot files)? :-)

No, I wouldn't. As long as it keeps going you will eventually end up with a
fully encrypted volume. It will just take a while to complete.

oh yes

boot volume with system files

and system volume with boot files........dxmn

That is actually the correct terminology. The system volume holds the files
that boot the computer, and the boot volume holds the system files.
