Birthdays in Mail to Calendar

When I put in a birthday into a Windows Vista Mail contact how can I get that
to transfer to my calendar? Does anyone have any suggestions or do I just
need to manually enter them into the calendar?

It is really pitty that they made Windows calendar and Windows Mail as such
useless applications.
Probably they are afraid that people will stop using Outlook if Vista
applications will be a bit better.
At least Windows Live Mail (desktop) is a pretty nice app...
