Help! I thought I would be ok with this game but can't get it to run. Have
Vista Premium 32 bit, Nvidia 8800gtx, 2mb ram etc etc. Downloaded all
patches and drivers, reinstalled directx but can only get to game start
screen. Can faintly see game loading screen but nothing loads. Any ideas
anyone???

Any error messages? What kind of processor, 2mb of ram is a bit low, I'll
assume you ment 2 GBytes instead of 128KBytes (2megabits = 256KBytes, sorry
that's just the Linux in me, he's not quite repressed and case sensitive).

Which patches did you download? Which drivers are you using exactly? 162.33
I think is the beta drivers for Bioshock, and there's a 163 version just
released. What kind of sound card? You said you can see something, but can
you hear anything? Any weird error messages? Does your system crash,
restart, shut down?

too many questions, next.

ususally this is indeed frustrating. My Motherboard is an intel core duo
with a built in sound card by Sigmatel.. Bioshock's requirement is Creative
Xfi's. if i don't meet this sound card requirement the game continues to
crash. and or it does'nt even want to run...

Bioshock does not require an X-Fi card, just like the nVidia logo next to
the X-Fi logo does NOT mean the game requires an nVidia card to run.

I've run Bioshock on an X-Fi and an integrated audio card, no problems with
both. The guys at Irrational "Recommend" a nice sound card like the Creative
Labs X-Fi, but the game will run on just about any Audio card with DirectX
supported drivers. (i.e. just about all of them).

If your game is not running, it's more than likely not the sound card, and
if it is, a driver update will fix the problem.

Try this......*'*DirectX SDK - August 2007 *'
***

With the demo it just would not load i got a blank screen and then a
message saying "Bioshock is not working" reinstalled demo then installed
this and it works fine on full settings on 1280 x 1024 resolution
with a xfx 8800 GTS xxx 320mb card

Hope this helps

ps This is 500mb plus in size...............you are warned.plus install
every thing,

This link came from the bioshock forum and thanks must go to them

This is the DirectX SDK (Software Development Kit), the nice thing about it
is if you install it you can run in debug mode, it runs slower than retail
but it'll also let you run in debug mode. Not really a recommended fix, but
if you can't get it to run any other way, there's no harm in running the SDK
version of DirectX.

Heck, download a copy of XNA and Visual Studio Express and start making your
own PC/XB360 games! It's actually quite easy to setup, and free, just don't
expect to make any money off whatever you create :)
