BIOS upgrades to stop freezing - where?

After some months of coping with constant freezing and
forced reboot, narrowed cause down to BIOS upgrade
needed. I'm running an Award BIOS 6.00 PG dated 28/5/01,
which is itself an upgrade of an earlier one.

Question is - is there an upgrade available for this
BIOS? And if so, where can I get it? Don't want to risk
any embedded virus.

You could try the website of your motherboard manufacturer. That's how I
found mine

Yes, and if the last release was over two years ago, then there likely is an
update available. Please do yourself a favor and read the BIOS update
instructions thoroughly before beginnning.
