bios problem

my computer keeps restarting when i shut down computer i have had a new
battery fitted and bios reset by computer shop it was ok but now a week later
it is playing up again any help please. thanx.

I don't know if this will help you but I helped a friend some weeks back to
get a PC working he had been given by his son. It is a Packard Bell machine
and needed to be restored to its original config, which I did. After it
finished I shut it down but it restarted so I removed all the plugged in
peripherals (USB printer & USB hub). It turned out to be the USB hub. When I
plugged the hub back in again the "new hardware wizard" detected the device
and installed it, after that the PC shutdown correctly.

So I would check device manager to be sure all devices are working and if
that's ok and you have USB devices unplug them and try again.
