bios help

can someone plse help me. i am having problems starting up my computer. when
i turn it on it goes straight into the bios settings and it just hangs
there. i have set all settings back to default but i still have problems
getting my computer to run normally. i have left my computer for a few days
plugged and i tried it again but still get the same result. there are no
beeps at all when i startup my computer it just goes into the bios settings
plse help.

any suggestions are welcome.

If you get the message to press F1, in all probability your hard drive has
failed.. take the machine to a repairer and get them to check it out..

Could be your CMOS copy of your BIOS has been corrupted (and gets a bad
CRC value). Have you tried shorting the jumper for a minute or removing
the battery for several minutes to clear the CMOS and reboot so the
computer reverts to its defaults? There are some computers where you
can actually modify the defaults by copying back the CMOS copy to
another table in the EEPROM. That copy is used on bootup but there
should still be a factory set of defaults that you can revert to. Since
you choose to ask about a hardware problem but never bothered to
identify your hardware then expect answers as vague as your question.
