I have two computers with Vista Ultimate. To save space I checked the box for "Compress this drive to save disk space" and it worked just fine. One the second computer, it destroyed the use of the computer in that it will no longer boot. Microsoft has erased all backups and records for Vista buyers and I have no backup or information about my Vista on this computer since I thought Microsoft had it. Now I cannot reinstall Vista nor can I upgrade to Windows 7 at the upgrade price. Am I totally screwed?

If you have the original disks and licence numbers, no probs.

If you have one disk and two licence numbers, no probs.

If you have anything less than one licence number and one disk, you are, in your own words, totally screwed.
