Jolene

I got on Internet Explorer today, as I do everyday, and
then the screen froze up. So then I just went into task
manager and saw that it was not responding so then I
selected end task. It didn't shut off right away and I
waited a little and clicked end task a couple more times
then everything on the desktop was gone besides the
background. I just restarted the computer but when it
loaded, only the background was showing, all the folders on
the desktop were gone and the bar at the bottom was also
gone. So does anyone know how I fix this problem?

Hi,

Sound like your PC is infected with a virus.

Try the following from the blank desktop press Ctrl + Alt + Del to bring up
the taskmanager and then find out whether the following process exsist:

sysu.exe

If it does then end the process

And ensure that you delete the the following folder: C:\Programs\ddm

Thanks,

Seetal

I checked to see is sysu.exe was there but it wasn't. I
did notice though, that explorer.exe was at 99% computer
usage so I ended its task and started it up again. I
thought the problem was fixed because everything came back.
I then ran Spybot but then when the program was about to
start it froze again, so then I went into task manager,
ended task, but then everything was gone again when i
closed out of task manager. So do you have any other ideas?

What is the OS on the computer and also was there a windows update done on
the computer prior to the problem?

When was the last time you did a full virus scan of the system?
