Beware of those who bit the hand that feeds them

OK....do you care, BITCH??

Take a hike!! You wore out your welcome on the MS news groups and I would
assume you are now banned there....good for them if they took that action.

You know, the idiot had some supporter on windowsxp.general who thought I
was some kind of Microsoft pawn because I mentioned that Mike Brannigan gets
posts censored there?

I mentioned it to prove to myself whether or not he only gets anti-Microsoft
posts censored, or he actually cares about the effectiveness of the group
and of protecting from abuse such as mvp Kelly Theriot, one of the most
helpful mvps there ever has been (anyone question this just Google "Kelly's
Korner").

When it seemed that it was true, he'd censor posts critical of Product
Activation, but not offensive posts exhorting the posting there of hjt logs,
I left the group.

I, like David Lipman am beginning to ask myself... is offering help,
being the good samaritan if you like, worth it? Especially if this is
the response you are to expect!

well, i don't think i ever got that kind of a response but i did grow
tired of the whole thing once... i took a break... of course, at the time
a bunch of people had taken up the charge so i felt like taking a break
was an option...

and having taken a break i got to see what it would be like without
helping people... i no longer try to answer each and every request for
help as there are others who can and do give satisfactory answers (in fact
i rarely come across a request for help that hasn't already been answered
these days), but i do have a certain amount of knowledge and a certain
amount of awareness of 'noblesse oblige' so i continue...

perhaps what you need is to find a new balancing point...

Please let me add my "Thank you!!!" to all of the others . Ian, David, Art
& many others have helped me learn a huge amount about computers & solving
problems. I also have sense enough now to know I know damn little.
Everyone ( with the exceptions we are all aware of...) have given directions
& directed those of us trying to learn to various aids & programs that have
helped immensely & made using this enjoyable & relatively problem free.
Just ignore the inflated ingrates. They apparently have more problems than
even you guys can solve.

Wise words. I choose to answer email of course.I don't really feel
obliged... but helping a fellow countryman seemed like the right thing
to do. What's that thing about shitting on your own door step again?

NEVER download files from anywhere unless it is from the website of the
developer, manufacturer or some entity you trust. The developers
websites ALWAYS have the most up to date files that haven't been
tampered with by some third party who is "hosting"(read Leeching or
Stealing) those files without permission.
