Windows Defender Beta 2 Coming Soon
Well, Microsoft tells me that it's been busy rearchitecting the product--the
original was written in Visual Basic, I found out this week--and working to
integrate it with Windows Vista

That first article sure has some wierd stuff in it.

It claims beta1 only runs on XP.

It claims beta2, Windows Defender, will work on 2k, xp, 2003, and Vista,
"with additional editions for earlier Windows posted at some undisclosed
future date." That would be remarkable new information if accurate--I need
to read the chat, but I suspect this one is wrong too.

Paul Thurrott has thing straight, but is about a year behind the rest of us
in realizing that the beta1 product was written in VB.

Folks--read the chat transcript, and ignore the journalists, who are not big
on getting their facts straight,

Microsoft tend to change there mind when it comes to beta release date so we
will see if it's really coming soon.

I'm not worried about this deadline. They've been stating shorter/sooner
dates, rather than longer dates. I think that is a good sign.
