Bet SUN wish they had kept quiet...

So the story is that the Spirit Rover is having some communication issues.

I gather that the Original Poster was suggesting that Sun had said the Mars
rover project used Java, and maybe now they wish they hadn't.

But Java wasn't used on the space-based systems at all - not on the
Spirit/Community nor on the Odyssey. The Spirit uses a real-time OS.

So nothing to see here.. . . .
 
QNX is the biggie for mission critical apps like rovers :D

They require high CMM levels which windows and linux just dont have, never
mind Java.
