Hello my Nvidia Gforce4 mx440 video card stopped recording audio on my
MCE. I was wanting opinions on a good replacement card. I'm open to
all suggestions, I want to stay around $150, but HD capability and
maybe even dual tuner support might make me go higher if peolpe think
it's worth it. It is a original MCE computer with the 2005 update.
It's a P4 2.66 Ghz. and has been very reliable.

thanks

Did you try posting in microsoft.public.windows.mediacenter? I'd think that
would be a good place to get advice on this.

You might want to post your inquiry to the media center newsgroup.

Your video card stopped recording audio? It was never responsible for doing
that. You might be treading the wrong path.

Yep Power user your exactly right. After actually digging the computer
out of the armoire and looking at the back, all of the inputs go into a
separate card below the video card.(kinda hard to see with all the
wires!) Asking around a friend of mine's had the same problem on the
same day, I thought, too fishy, so I restored the computer to Sept.
11th and boom working fine!???? Who knows what kind of update messed
with it, I guess I'll just count my blessings.

thanks

Nice! I don't see what could have caused that; possibly a bad audio driver
update that was installed. Good thing you didn't go buy that video card 8-)
