IMHO the best news compiler is serence klipfolio
(http://www.serence.com/site.php). it is small (442kb), stays out of
the way, and does everything i want in a news reader.

the best popup ad killer hands down is killad
(http://www.iomagic.org/fsc/killad.htm). it is programmed in assembly,
so no program comes close to its size. who wants to download 500kb+
for such a basic utility?

Nice user-friendly interface , but extremely limited access to
sources, compared to Amphetadesk.

well i was voting specifically for the 2003 pricelessware.org thingy,
since there's a dedicated popup ad killer section.

if you are talking about browsers with built-in popup killer, then my
vote goes to k-meleon (http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/). k-meleon is
basically firebird on a diet.
