Best Install Method?

Does anybody have any advice for me on the best install
method for the 614 build. I am still running 509 but have
downloaded the 614 version to file on my hard disk. Am
still holding out for an automatic update but if that
doesn't happen soon, I will upgrade manually. When doing
this manually does 614 install over 509 or do I need to
unistall 509 first and then run the 614 installation file
afterwards. Was looking for some good advice from anyone
who has already upgraded rather than trial and error.

I was notified of a newer version of MS antispyware, but
asked the program to notify me after 1 day. A week
passed, and it as not notified me yet, so I simply
downloaded version 614 off the MS website.
Beware though, its got a lot of bugs, that weren't in
previous incarnations of antispyware. I guess you should
uninstall first just to be safe which is what I did.

.Hi Richard.

If it helps. I did a manual upgrade from the first version
to 509 by simply over installing with no problems.
However,today I received an automatic update notification
that 614 was available and all went well with the
following exception: you will have to manually install the
updated defs from 5729 to 5731 - it seems there is a bug
with this. Please see threads on this site on how to do
this.

.richard,i installed via downloaded program folder in

windows and it worked perfect i could not install from
desktop because os windows installer error but it worked
perfect from this folder in windows and its the latest
version 610
