Best freeware site?

Hi,

Which freeware web site is considered the most comprehensive and up to
date these days? I would prefer one with a RSS feed.

Off course I myself >> PERSONALLY << consider my own site to be the
best.

But that's obvious because it contains my own carefully selected and
tested collection of favorite freeware which I can recommend to
everybody.... ;)

In fact, you really have to check out Henk de Jong's Links To Freeware
(http://home.hccnet.nl/hmdejong/).
He's got a massive list of great sites with a selection of 'Best
Freeware Sites'...

;)

B.T.W, for RSS-feeds on freeware, I can recommend Snapfiles:

Good luck!

It's going to be hard to find a freeware site with an RSS feed, because
most of them support themselves by advertising and clickthroughs. They
want you to actually visit their sites rather than viewing them through
an aggregator. Still, having said that, I did find this one:

http://www.onlythebestfreeware.com/rss.asp

which I've never used, but will now check out.

Otherwise, it really depends on what you're looking for. Here are some
sites that I use regularly:

A1B2C3:

Freeware Arena:
http://www.freewarearena.com/html/index.php?name=Downloads

Freeware Home:
http://freewarehome.com/ (although lately I've been having trouble
getting the link to work)

Freeware World Team:

Freeware Web:

Jan's Freeware Collection:

Kool Lite Tools:

Majorgeeks (freeware mixed with shareware, but labeled):
http://www.majorgeeks.com/

Nonags (shareware mixed in a little, but labeled as "[Sponsored]"):
http://www.nonags.com/nonags/

PCPlus:
http://www.pcplus.co.uk/downloads/

Pricelessware (freeware considered to be the best of it's category by
vote in this group):
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/

Quantum Illusions (AKA Fort Freeware):
http://quantum.it-mate.co.uk/freeware/downloads.htm

Snapfiles:

Son of Spy (lots of hard to find stuff here):
http://www.sover.net/~wysiwygx/Sofffffffware2.html

Webgrid:
http://www.webgrid.co.uk/index.html

And as Arjan mentioned, Henk de Jong's excellent link site "Links to
Freeware":
http://home.hccnet.nl/hmdejong/

There are also lots of specialized sites that I look at, but far too
many to list here.

Hmm. Guess I spoke too soon in my other post. At any rate, for those who
are interested in RSS feeds, here is the Snapfiles list of freeware RSS
feed readers:

Well, for me RSS encourages revisits to a site. Actually I think I would
visit a site with RSS more than if it didn't have it. Since I am
continuously teased with new freeware through the RSS feed I am more
likely to visit the site to access the latest and greatest. Actually, most
of the sites I visit frequently has RSS. A good example is Shellcity.net
which I visit almost every day based on the four new RSS entries they
provide.

Thank you for the link.
