...believes that it is the master browser...

Matt

I get the following error in the event log on my server:
"The master browser has received a server announcement
from the computer <Windows XP Workstation> that believes
that it is the master browser for the domain on transport
NetBT_Tcpip. The master browser is stopping or an election
is being forced."
From what I read the problem is that the Subnet is wrong
on the XP workstation, however I have checked it over and
over. It workstation recieves DHCP from the server.

Any ideas what might be causing this problem?

Thanks,
Matt

We have saw some cases like this one, the DHCP client has the different
subnet. posting the results of ipconfig /all on client and dhcp server may
help.

One quickie workaround is to disable the computer browser service on the
workstations. It's a cheat, but it works.
