BELIEVE IT OR NOT! No Copy & Paste URL in FP Hyperlink?

B

Benjamin

Dear friends:

This may seem like a minor issue, but either I am missing something or
FrontPage 2002 can't do something it should certainly be able to do.
Here is the situation:

You try to add a hyperlink to a highlighted text. You right click and
choose Hyperlink, then you see Text to Display at the top and an
"Address" box for the URL at the bottom of the dialogue box. There
seems to be NO WAY to copy and paste a URL from the Web or from your
FP page into the "Address" box. I am sure I am missing something. I
tried to right click, etc. Won't work. You can't copy anything with
the Hyperlink dialog box open, and you can't copy the text from the
Web or your FP page FIRST and then paste it into the address box. It
just won't let you. What do you do? Then? Do you really have to enter
every URL manually? Some of these URL's are very, very long. I can't
believe that FP can't let you copy and paste the URL into the address
box. How could that be in our day and age? Am I missing something or
is FP asleep at the wheel?

Thanks so much in advance.

What did you say about hitting Crtl + V in the paste address?

Click one of the buttons under and to the right for the type of link you want, if it's to a web page, click the globe, a browser
window will open, paste the link in the browser window and hit enter, when the page loads go back to FrontPage and your link is
entered.

Highlight the test, click the hyperlink icon on the toolbar,
right click and paste.

Believe it or not, the old "Shift Insert" method works as well.

Dear friends:

Now why didn't I think of that? Control + V! Works every time. And so
does Shift + Insert. Thank God it was my ignorance and not Microsoft's
incompetence. Glad to know I was wrong. My thanks to all of you who
were kind enough to respond. I think I'll go celebrate.:--)
