I am a beginner of the Ms Windows 2000 server, so i have
some problem that need someone to help me.

My problem is how can I assign private IP address to my
client. Where should I go to set the configuration, please
tell me step by step. In addition, how can I determine my
private IP is success or not.

Thank You!!!

1. Right-click My Network Places, and then click Properties.

2. Right-click the network connection for your network adapter, and
then click Properties.

3. On the General tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click
Properties.

4. Click "Use the following IP address", and then type the appropriate
values in the "IP address", "Subnet mask", and "Default gateway" boxes.
NOTE: In most cases, you should type the IP address of the SBS
computer's internal (non-Internet) network adapter for the Default
Gateway value.

5. Click" Use the following DNS server addresses".

6. In "Preferred DNS server" and "Alternate DNS server" boxes, type the
primary and secondary DNS server addresses. In most cases, this is the
internal IP address of your SBS server.

7. Click Advanced, click the WINS tab, click Add, and then type the
internal IP address of your SBS server in the WINS server box.

8. Click Add, click OK, click OK, and then click OK.

In my PC, there are 2 NIC, one act as external IP
(202.185.112.79) and another act as Internal IP
(192.168.11.50). I already configure the 2 NIC
configuration.

Then, I go to set a range of client address in the DCHP
(start from 192.168.10.1 to 192.168.10.50), then I use the
remote pc to test, the result is the client computer
cannot go through my server.

Here are the following client TCP/IP info :
IP address: 192.168.10.1
subnet:255.255.255.0
Default Gateway:192.168.111.254
Preferred DNS:192.168.111.50

Can u tell me what is going wrong??????

THANKS YOU!!!
