--------Before Rebuilding a dead DC

A DC is dead. I use ntdsutil to seize FSMO roles and do metadata cleanup but
without using adsiedit. Now if I start rebuilding the DC by using same
computer name, is there going to be any problem? Thanks.

It can indeed cause you problems. The active directory will still have an
entry for your domain controller.

The best thing to do would be to follow:

The steps for ADSIEDIT.MSC are needed to remove the computer account
information.
