Beeping from Tower

D

Dianne W. Boros

When logged on in regular mode, my tower beeps a fast low beep all the time.
I opened in safe mode and didn't hear it. It is very faint.

Could it be a low battery? It also says my Windows Time cannot be
synchronized because of not being able to connect to the time sources.????

There is usally a small speaker connected to the SPKR jack on the
motherboard. (It has nothing to do with your audio system.) In many
instances this speaker beeps when there are problems with memory, the cpu,
the motherboard, etc that occur before Windows itself loads.

The sequence of beeps varies depending on motherboard manufacturer and BIOS
installed. Check the owner's manual.

Highly unlikely. If it were, you'd hear it before Windows even began to
load, and before you had a chance to choose Safe Mode or Regular Mode.

Hi .... The one and only time I've had any irregular beeping from my PC was
due to a virus!

Hi,

A steady beep from the tower is often due to faulty memory.
