BCM with SBS03 (non R2) workarounds?

I have OL2007 with BCM installed on a Vista Ultm box that is part of a SBS03
(prem) domain. Part of what I was hoping todo was park the BCM db on the SBS
server and have the db available to me via the web or on my WM5 phone. From
what I understand this isn't doable since BCM only supports SQL 2005 servers
and my SBS box has SQL 2000.

Given this is there any viable solution to my configuration? OR I do have a
separate box outside of the domain that hosts our websites which is running
SQL 2005 std. I could park the database on their, but what about
synchronizing btwn my Vista box and my WM5?

Is it just me, or is BCM in a really wierd placement? I llike it better than
MS CRM from a usability standpoint, but it seems kinda like the odd man out.
No?

I beleieve you can install sql 05 on the same box as sql 2000.

That's how SBA/Sql2000 1.0 and SBA 2.0/Sql2005 (AKA MOA) work side by
side.
