BCM Email Auto Link Question

Is there a way to set the auto link on as default vs. having to check
it each time a contact is added? This way all new contacts will
automatically be linked to emails sent and received.

I also had to copy my contacts from the default contact folder to BCM
contacts and it seems I have to go and email auto link each contact
individually.

If there is no default, is there a way to perform this on multiple
contacts?

Thanks
Kita

The default is that email are automatically linked to Business
Contacts and Accounts. When an email arrives in Outlook, BCM checks to
see if the sender's address belongs to a BCM contact, and adds an
email activity to the history of of the contacts with that email
address. I believe the default is reversed for shared databases, then
emails are not automatically linked.

You can control your BCM's behavior through the Manage E-mail Auto-
linking dialog.

Hi,

*** Fix for Email Autolinking ***

I've posted a recent project of mine which fixes the email autolinking issues with Business Contact Manager, specifically with automatic autolinking being disabled in a shared database environment.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/businesscontact/

The link above provides access to the software download (free version), which must be installed on the Business Contact Management server, and runs as a service. The software adds autolinking for each user (added in config file), so that users no longer need to run the Email Autolinking tool everyday.

This was developed primarily for our own purposes, however whilst trying to come up with a fix we noticed many other businesses who had the same problem.

regards,

Mark H

BCM 2010 Autolink Errors

Hi,

I've downloaded the Business Contact Manager Autolink Plugin from Sourceforge, but I cannot get it to start. I've tried enabling the add-in, through Outlook, but it wasn't listed with the other add-ins... so I tried to add the add-in to the list, but was unable to. I keep getting an error saying "A Windows Service must first be installed (using installutil.exe) and then started with the ServerExplorer..." I've also tried double-clicking on the program, from where it sits in my Programs Folder... with no luck.

Is this add-in compatible with OUtlook BCM 2010?

I am trying to get my e-mails to auto-link an am going nuts! Nothing is working.

Please help,
Annie
