BCM "could not complete your last action..."

A response to my March 1, 2008 message below suggested that I turn on
logging to diagnose the problem. (Tools / Options / Other / Advanced
Options) I did and the only thing logging displays is pop3 and smtp
activity. Any other ideas?

3/1/08 Post:

I'm having an annoying but intermittant error message popup in Outlook 2007
with
the following message:

"Business Contact Manager for Outlook could not complete your last action or
actions. Please try again."

I've searched the Web and this group but the few solutions available don't
work.

If I reboot Outlook then the problem goes away for a while. Clicking on a
folder in Contacts starts the problem and after that clicking on any folder
in Outlook launches the popup. This install is months old and the problem
is new.

I have installed a few other programs but nothing odd. All normal business
programs and utilities. I recently updated Office Accounting but there was
no immediate problem after that.

I can access my contacts in BCM and everything I've tried works well. The
database is at least working.

Outlook 2007 with latest updates
Office Accounting 2008 installed but not connected to BCM.
XP SP3 with latest updates

Help is deeply appreciated!

Try turning on BCM logging.

You can enable logging from menu Help | About Business contact Manager
for Outlook, check the checkbox for "Enable Logging for Business
Contact Manager".

After turning on logging, when you see a BCM error message, you can
open the logging file in XP on folder Document and Settings\<user>
\local settings\temp\bcmlog_v3.log; on Vista users\<user>\AppData\Local
\Temp\BCMLog_V3.log. The latest logged messages will be at the bottom
of the file.

There was nothing in the log that helps me understand the problem. So I
backed up BCM, uninstalled, and reinstalled. Pain in the ass. I've been
using this solution for over 25 years and it is still about the only
proceedure that works.
