BCM and Exchange

We are considering BCM for our organization. We currently use hosted
exchange. We have about 12 users. 3 of our users are remote half of the
time.

Does the BCM work out of a shared folder on the exchange server, or do we
need to install something on our local network to implement this solution?

I'm having a difficult time finding information regarding the way BCM needs
to be configured when using exchange. Any information will be very helpful
at this point.

Thank you!

I'm a beginner running BCM (2007) on an in-house Exchange system using
SBS2003, and as far as I can see, there's no connection. BCM uses an SQL
server which is independent of any Exchange database, and can either be
installed on a workstation (remember the limit on connections to XP or
Vista) or on a server, which may or may not also run Exchange. The SQL
server used by BCM in my installation is SQL Server 2005 Express, which
was installed on the SBS specifically to run BCM. You will need to run
it on a local network machine.

Outlook operates with or without Exchange, and BCM is very much a part
of Outlook. The BCM Contacts are neither Exchange Global Address List
contacts nor local Outlook contacts, and email connectivity uses Outlook
without any reference to its parent mail server, whether Exchange or
something else.

local Windows 2003 Server with SQL Server 2005 Express?
