BCCode : 10000050 fault, intermittent crash problems.

Guest

I get the following error after a Windows XP reinstall:-

BCCode : 10000050 BCP1 : DE3A8085 BCP2 : 00000000 BCP3 : 85C64C91
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1

files included
C:\DOCUME~1\Fred\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER14b5.dir00\Mini070807-01.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Fred\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER14b5.dir00\sysdata.xml

This problem seems to appear whenever I run a couple of gaming applications
on the computer system. It seems to happen after an hour or so after using
these gaming applications.

I have followed Microsofts support documents regarding the problem and
installed all the latest drivers for all my hardware, but the problem still
persists. Could someone please tell me how to resolve this issue and also
what exactly the BCCode : 10000050 code means.

Thank you for any help given.

what exactly the BCCode : 10000050 code means.

It is a 'page fault' in memory. You probably have a vidoe driver that the
game is trying to use, in a way that writes to a bad place in memory.
The only fix there would ever be, assuming you already have the best drivers
for that card that exist, would be a better card, or having someone create a
better driver for that game and card.

Thank You Mark,
It seems that I would be hard pressed to get anything out the game vendors,
or the the Video card manufacter, even if I pounded on their doors.

Could this also be the result of a faultly memory segment on the video card
itself, if it is, I could purchase another video card, to test this theory of
mine.

Next question, is there some type of diagnostic tool for video cards?

Thank you for any help given.

Bug Check Code 10000050 is also referred to as STOP 00000050 or as
STOP 0x50. The name assigned to it is PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Defective RAM is a prime suspect (but by no means the only suspect)
for this problem.

Download one of the following free memory testing utilities and run it
for an extended period (e.g. overnight) to check out your RAM for
possible problems:
DocMemory http://www.simmtester.com
Windows Memory Diagnostic http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
Memtest86: http://www.memtest.org

If the memory checks out okay then it may be a faulty software item,
such as a Windows system service, a device driver, or antivirus
program, that is the underlying cause.

With this specific error message it is the third parameter value
(85C64C91 in the example you provided) that identifies the memory
address where the problem originated. If that parameter is
consistently the same value and the memory has tested okay then it may
be possible to trace the actual driver or service that is triggering
the error. Post a reply back here if you would like detailed
instructions as to how to do this.

Good luck

Its a Radeon 9550 AGP, I have gone to ATI website and logged the fault, and
raised a support ticket at their site.

I am hoping that they will come back with something, such as a patch file,
for my driver, but that's really hoping. :)

Thanks for the Urls.
