how do i get windows xp to let me know before my battery
is going to die. i looked under power settings in the
control panel and there is a tab under ups for my battery
settings signal strength etc but it is grayed out with
no info in there how do i activate it so it will show me
the settings of the battery on my laptop. thank you for
any info

You are in the correct area to look, I think. On my Toshiba there is a
special Control Panel app called "Toshiba Power Mangement". Look for a
vendor specific on on your machine. Also, read the intructions which
cam with your laptop for further guidance. Check on the manufacturer's
web site if you don't have the manual for your laptop.

it could be your laptop doens't have the power management
software/hardware or it's configured wrongly. again, read the
instructions manual for your laptop for more guidance.
