Bass and discant

For some reason I can't adjust the bass and discant in the sound volume box.

This probably has to do with the driver, but nevertheless I hope some of you
know how to change these settings, so they are no longer frozen at the lowest
level.

Were you able to do this before? If you have never been able to
adjust these settings, it is probably due to your soundcard drivers
do not support these functions or needs updated drivers from the
manufacturers website. If you were able to do this before, try a
System Restore to before the problem started.

Don't think I was ever able to do it. And it is very likely that its a driver
issue.
Any ideas how to correct that? Places to find other drivers or something?

The problem is that the 'real' base line, so to speak, can not be found by
cranking up the bass or truBass in different music programs. This only gets a
techno-dance type sound. So, really want it fixed.

I answered that in my initial response. Go to the manufacturers website
and check for updated drivers for your soundcard. I have no idea who
manufactured your soundcard. If you don't know, you can open the case
and look on the card for the brandname. The card is where you plug in
your speakers.
