Basic for Basic

Hi got a basic question so I figure I'm in the right place.

What happens when a PC goes into standby, the help file on the subject
is a little vague. I leave my PC on 24/7 and if I could help the
environment (and my lecky bill) whilst still being able to download
stuff I would.

So if I understand this correctly. I can't go into standby at all
because if I want my PC to download overnight then it's going to need
the drives (to download onto) which even the first level standby does.

Right?

No, as far as I'm aware you cannot download while the PC is in standby mode.
Basically everything is suspended until you wake it up again.
