Banner/Poster printer software

S

Simplex

Am looking for software that will let me printout a multi-page image, poster
size. Years ago I seem to recall software that did just that. (back when
WFWG311 was king)

I found a product called qimage. Tried running it's demo in win98, but I
cannot get it to print. I end up with 'stream errors'. Don't see why I'd
want to pay $50.00 for it.

Thanks!

I can email you a copy of a program that was freeware when I
downloaded it. Can't find it anywhere now though. Let me know if you
want it. It's small and doesn't require install. From the readme file,
I find the following:

"This program is "Freely Distributed". The author has given permission
for the file to be distributed without restriction, but does not
permit alterations to the file."

Let me know if you want it.

Poster has been designed to let you easily and quickly create large
posters and signs, printing them at up to 10 times the size of a
single sheet. The posters are text and graphics. This program is very
easy to use, and it is very simple to create large posters. It is
especially useful when you have a number of fonts installed, as the
font selection menu displays renditions of all the true-type fonts.
The final poster size is fully configurable. This program is "Freely
Distributed". The author has given permission for the file to be
distributed without restriction, but does not permit alterations to
the file.

It is also shareware (version 7.9) and has a pretty nasty
protection system. If you move to a new computer or reinstall
more than a couple of weeks later, the bought code doesn't
work any more. You have to ask for a new one and hope they
don't take a week to send it or got run over by a bus :-(

Sorry, that is another program called poster from
PosterSW.com. I mught be tempted to switch as I just HATE the
cripping of the other one (even though I bought it).

Ugh! I have one registered payware who looks for something like (?) my
partition serial number. I am constantly booting between one partition
and another, use Ghosting regularly, and each time, it requires that I
get a new code. It's semi-automated, where I connect to their website.
Still a lot of hassle. I've had about 200 codes and counting generated so
far... I'd not have bought the program if I knew it was screwed up like
that. Even worse is what you describe. Having to waste a lot of time in
comm with the developer, merely to continue using the program you already
paid to use.

That's a central reason I prefer freeware. Not simply the dollar difference.
The hassle + time + function difference. Payware registration maintenance
ordeals are too much of a headache.

From what I can tell, the author (Bob Bedoll) originally released the
program as freeware and then later released another version that is
shareware. However, the ver. 1.2 at
http://users.northnet.com.au/~mitchymoo/freeware.html
is the freeware one.
