Banner Ad problem

I have built a web site with a banner ad manager from FP 2002. When I view
the banner ad on other PC's, it's fine. However, on the PC from which I
publish, I cannot see the banner ad but instead get the red X placeholder
instead.

it happens on any web page with a banner ad manager.

any thoughts?

thank you

Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.
If still no joy then have a look at this page for other issues.

If the adds are generated by a script then your Java or script engine may be
corrupt.

Is the directory structure on the pc from which you publish different from
that which exists online?

For example, let's say that on your computer the root directory is
D:\mywebs\project1 (which equates to the webroot online). If your HTML file
is in /subdir2 and your image is in the root directory ("/"), there will be a
difference like you describe, depending upon how you reference the image
file.

/someimg.gif vs. ../someimg.gif

The first method will only render correctly online; the 2nd method will
render correctly either way. The first method is looking for the image file
in "D:\".
