Banned by FTP server because of default behavior in Explorer

I want to use Windows explorer to access an FTP site to which I have
access. This FTP site bans users after 5 failed attempts to log in.
Windows Explorer tries to log in anonymously multiple times while I'm
browsing the directory structure and I get banned for 24 hours after
the 5th attempt by Explorer to log in anonymously.

Can Windows Explorer be configured to never try to log in anonymously?

Any advice is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.
