how do I disable the tray ballons in winxp?
every time it pops up, i have to close it and also slows down the machine.
Is it allowed? thru disabling QoS?

Add a DWORD key "EnableBalloonTips" with a value of 0

at

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

(start > run > regedit)

Then log off and on

You may easily get rid of ballons through Tweak UI.Download and install
Tweak UI.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

After installation,open TweakUI and highlight the Taskbar and Startmenu
heading, and in the right pane remove the check mark from the Enable
Balloon Tips option,then click the Apply & OK buttons.
