Bad: tick mark in cell

I am trying to add a tick mark to an excel cell, in tick mark I am on
about the ticks you would get from your techer when you got something
right!! I have seen it on some sheets before but can't find where it's
hidden. any help??

Set the font to Windings2 and use the letter P This will give you a tick.

here is one way to get to them...

Right click on your Tool Bar, go to Customize, go to Forms, then click
and drag the check box to your tool bar for easy access.

Me thinks that someone in Public Accounting (former?) asked the
question.

Most US people call it a "check mark".

Set the cell's font to Wingdings (using Format/Cells/Font) and put this
in the cell:
=CHAR(252)

If you want to get the value without a formula:
1. Make sure Num Lock is on.
2. Hold down the Alt key.
3. While you're still holding it down, type "0252" on the numeric keypad.
4. Release the Alt key.
