I'm using a Dell computer purchased in '02 running Windows XP Home
ed. It has a Nvidia XFX GEFORCE4 TI4200 AGP 64 mb video card, a Dell
digital monitor (purchased a little over 1 year ago, and Integrated
ADI 1885 Audio (is this a card??) that came with the computer.
Recently I started hearing static, popping, crackling, etc coming out
of the speakers when the screen display changes. It can be VERY loud,
lasts for a time then quiets down. It seems to be connected to
movement on the display, such as awakening the monitor from sleep,
opening an application, or if the app has intense graphics (Second
Life) it can be fairly constant. oh, and it's getting worse - enough
so for me to be concerned!!
Can it be wires, or the graphics card, or the sound card?? I notice
the newer graphics cards are 128 mgs; wondering if my card is too
short on memory to handle graphic intensive apps? Want to repair
what's necessary, but don't know what it is.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!
