Backwards security

Just installed xp pro, and I miss just one win98 capability: Password
protected screen saver. I *KNOW* it's not secure, but sometimes it's enough
to force my son to ask "hey dad...are you in the middle of something, or can
I use the machine?" Without the PW, he usually just starts slapping keys.
Any way to get that function back? There are times when I don't need the
machine to go back to the PW-protected welcome screen.

Right click the Desktop, Select Properties, Screen Saver, On resume, show
Welcome Screen or On resume, password protect. Of course, if you have Fast
User Switching enabled, your son can still log on to his profile (assuming
he has one), while your's is still running in the background.

OK...maybe I'm going about this the wrong way. With Win98SE, I set up a
hotkey for the screen saver. If the phone range or something was exploding
on the stove and I had to leave the computer for a minute, invoking the
screen saver was instantaneous. With XPpro, is there a way to do something
similar, making the departure to the welcome screen a one-key thing?

Windows Key + L will lock the workstation and you will need to enter a
password to unlock it.
