Backups

Is the backup utility (From System Tools) a good utility for backups? I'm
tried of Norton Save and Restore.

I just used the Backup Wizard to program a weekly backup of My Docs and
Settings. I noticed that I only had two options: overwrite the previous or
append to previous. I don't like overwriting backups since if you crash
while doing it you've lost all. I don't like appending since it just grows
endlessly.

What do others do? Could I create two tasks that each run every second week
and overwrite their files so if in case of crash the other one is alway good?

I have used Acronis True Image for some time and find it very easy to use
and understand.
A new version(Ver 10) is now available

It's better than nothing, but it's probably the poorest choice available. I
like Acronis TrueImage.

That's exactly why my personal backup is to image my entire drive to an
external hard drive. I have two such drives and I alternate between them.
