I wonder if this is a bug or just plain old user error?
I have repositioned My Documents on to D: drive and went to perform my
first backup using Windows XP Pro utility (SP2 and all recent updates)
I ran with the backup wizard option My Documents and Settings
The backup was remarkably swift for the volume of files and it appears
that backups were not performed of the data folder acting as My Documents.
Right click on My Documents > Properties shows the correct location on
D: and all programs save as they have done to My Documents on D: but the
backup seemed to miss data on D:
I performed a secondary backup this time electing to choose folders
myself and selected every folder in My Documents but not the My
Documents folder (if you know what I mean)
The first backup weighs in at 1.29 GB (option My Documents and Settings)
The second backup weighs in at 40.0 GB (option choose folders > all
folders within My Documents)
My thoughts are:
1 - does above suggest I may have not fully completed a switch of My
Documents from C: to D: although working practice seems to suggest it is ok
or
2 - is it a feature of the backup process?
