Backup

I am trying to set up the XP Backup again after having to
replace my hard drive last week. I have a problem with
using the cd rom drive as the destination drive.
"d drive is not a valid drive or you do not have access"
When it previously worked (before the hard drive crash),
it also kept making my backups read only and prevented me
from using the rest of the disc (cd rewriteable). How do
I stop it from making the backup files read only and how
do I get it to use the d drive as the destination drive.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Roslyn,

Ntbackup wasn't designed for use with CDRW's. You probably had packet
writing software previously installed which will allow you to get around
this limitation. You can't prevent the read only attribute either, this is
by design.

Try mapping your CDRW drive, then select the mapped drive as the backup
destination as a workaround.
