Just installed backup from value added section of XP cd.
Want to backup system state to cd backup wizard wants to
backup to floppy and neither works. When I tell it to use
E:\ wizard prompts if I have access to it click ok but
prompt comes back. If I try to let it copy to A: (floppy)
it says not enough space put in another disc. All I really
want is a backup copy of registry. Help would be
appreciated. Thanks.

I have been informed that XP's Back-up does not back-up to CD. Seems
worthless to me. I updated from Windows98 which had the same worthless b/u
utility.
That said. To back up registry. Start/Run/Type in: regedit/hit
Enter/click File/Export/Save wherever you want to save it and copy or send
it to your CD Writer. Hope this helps.

You will have to backup to a file on the hard drive, then burn that file to CD as a separate step.
