Has anyone use the Windows XP Pro system of Back up and Restore? Was it
successful?

Thank you,

I tried it recently and had a problem.

I normally use Norton Ghost 9.0 to back up various PC HD's to various USB
storage devices. Normally, I backup about 10 Gigs to 20 Gigs of Data on PC
HD's to USB storage device ranging from 70Gigs to 200Gigs in size and Norton
Ghost breaks it down to 4Gig files by default, though I configured it to do
it via 1 Gig sized files.

But NTBackup starts backing up stops at 4Gig, and tells me that's it.
Anything I didn't configure or is it only used to copy to a series CD Rom's.

I tried NTBackup because Norton 9.0 had a problem backing up one of my HD's.
On this PC, with Norton 9.0 compressing data, the image file totals over
46Gigs backing up about 11 Gigs of data. Yikes. That's another mystery I
havn't gotten to yet.

So I'm temporary backing up using Xcopy for my douments only. I'm thinking
of using NTBackup, but I don't know if I can just restore one file.

Questions:

1- Can NTBackup backup 11 Gigs of data to a USB storage device??
2- Can it retore One file??

Yes - the limitation of 4Gb is FAT32 formatted disks - NTFS, no probs
2- Can it retore One file??

Yes, but you manually have to run the Restore option and find the one
file, select it and it will restore - not a very convenient way.
